Carnegie Mellon University is located in the Oakland section of Pittaburgh, Pennsylvania, on a 90 acre campus adjacent to Schenley Park. The campus adjoins the cultural center of the city and lies about four miles east of the downtown business district. It is within walking distance of the Carnegie Museum, several music auditoriums, and the University of Pittsburgh. Excellent public transportation is available to such downtown attractions as the Heinz Center for the Performing Arts, the Benedum Center, the Pittsburgh Public Theater, PNC Park, Heinz Field, and the Civic Arena.
